Air conditioning (often named as air con, A/C, or AC) is a process of adding or removing heat and vapor to or from the occupied space to achieve the comfort of occupants. AC can be utilized in both commercial and domestic buildings. In construction, an entire system of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning is named as HVAC. There is an American association aiming to improve heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems design and construction called The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
